Why Samsara?

Welcome to Samsara Counselling. My name is Aditi Mukesh, I am a registered clinical counsellor in the lower mainland area of BC.

My practice is called Samsara Counselling, after the Buddhist term “Samsara”, referring to the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Existence moves in cycles, as does the human mind. Stuck in an endless loop of thoughts, the mind creates narratives of fear and anxiety. Counselling helps you regain control over yourself, so that you can be free from these patterns, and embrace responsibility of your life. With deeper connection to the self, we can achieve the freedom and happiness we crave.

The art of Counselling is an intentional form of death and rebirth. One enters therapy ready to make a change in life and start a new chapter. This means letting go of the old self, to move towards something better. Rising from its ashes, this new birth represents growth, resilience, freedom, responsibility, and love.

My Roots: Oman

I was born in Muscat, Oman. A beautiful desert country in the Gulf, ruled by Islamic law, with a booming economy from the oil industry.

I cherish my childhood memories of camping in the desert, running through the local Souqs, and hearing the Islamic prayer call everyday.

My trips to India provided a stark contrast to the blazing heat of the Gulf. My family hails from the lush tropics of Kerala, a state at the southernmost tip of India. In every direction, you can see tall coconut trees swaying in the wind. The beautiful backwaters of Kerala stretch across the state, and provide a scenic view for passengers of traditional houseboats. South India is also known to be a “vegan’s paradise”, with a longstanding tradition of diverse and nutritious dishes.

About Me: My work

For the past 15 years, I have been given the opportunity to work  and study in the field of mental health and substance use. I have practiced in community, hospital, residential, and clinical settings. This provided me with insight into the needs of various communities, as well as a better understanding of the systematic structures in place within our society.

If you are interested in my work history, or credentials, you can see my resume.

In this website, I am creating a space to explore the mystery of life and existence, from a philosophical and therapeutic lens.

Whether you identify as spiritual, religious, questioning, or just philosophical.  I hope you feel a sense of belonging in this space. I hope you will find some content that you can relate to, and that supports your journey. Welcome.
